The Mani. The area covering the middle arm of the southern Peloponnese, extending from Gythio to Cape Tainaro—the southernmost point of mainland Greece—is called the Mani, after the castle of Maina.

Neapoli Molao
It is the most southern city in the Peloponnese.
Neapoli was not founded until the middle of
the 19th century after the country gained
independence from Ottoman rule.
South of Neaploi is the island of Kythira,
here you can go by
ferry from Neapoli.

Porto Kagio
Porto Kagio is a picturesque coastal village.
It is located on a small bay 5 km north of Cape Tainaros, the southernmost point of the entire Balkan peninsula (mainland). The name comes from the Venetian Porto Quaglio and the French Port des Cailles (Harbor of quail).
Here you can eat delicious fresh fish with your feet in the water.

Elafonisos
Elafonisos is a small island close to the town of Neapoli and can be reached by ferry from the harbor of Vigklavia.
The boat runs every half hour in high season and costs one euro per person
The car costs € 7.
The crossing takes about 15 minutes.
You arrive in the north of the island at the town.

Monemvasia
Monemvasia
A special place that we would recommend to every visitor to the Peloponnese is without a doubt Monemvasia.
This town is located in the southeast of the Peloponnese on the Aegean coast and is called “the Gibraltar of the East” because it bears similarities with the real Gibraltar.
Monemvasia is located on a high rocky peninsula that is connected by a narrow strip and a bridge to the mainland of the Lakonia department

Areopoli
Areopoli is a picturesque town that attracts many tourists.
The old town is beautiful, you will find traditional maniatic houses, high towers, beautiful churches, cobbled streets and many shops.
There are many nice cafes and taverns.

Diros Caves
In Diros are the famous caves of the same name, the museum of Diros and a white pebble beach.
Diros is located south of Areopoli (11 km), 91 km from Kalamata and 36 km from Gythion.
The caves of Diros are two: Vlychada and Aleopotrypa.
These caves are among the most beautiful and largest in all of Greece. Remains from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods have been found in the caves

Limeni
A nice coastal village is Limeni.
It is a picturesque seaside town.
Limeni is arguably the most beautiful coastal village in the Mani and the entire region.
It has no beach at all, yet it is extremely popular as a beach resort.

Mystras
One of the most interesting sights on the Peloponnese peninsula is without a doubt Mystras.
Mystras is today an abandoned town five kilometers northwest of Sparta, in the Lakonia department.
There was a period in the Middle Ages when as many as 40,000 people lived here.
